Samsung Galaxy S10 / S10+: How to View IMEI SV
What is IMEISV number? – SidmartinBio
IMEI is marked as Black listed. IMSI has following format 1) Type Allocation Code (TAC) : It is of 8 digits, tell the type of device, which governing body has approved it and Manufacture/Assember of Device. Last 2 digit of TAC called as Final Assembly Code denotes the manufacturer or assembler.
Difference Between the IMEI and Serial Number An IMEI is similar to a serial number since it is a unique number linked to a hardware device. A variation of the IMEI, called the IMEISV (IMEI Software Version), includes the 14-digit number plus two digits for the version of the device’s software.
This number is composed of the TAC, SN and SV for a total of 16 digits (sometimes 17). The check digit is generally dropped from the IMEISV. The check digit can be calculated, if missing, by dropping the SV digits and using Luhns Algorithm against the remaining digits starting at the right most digit.
To retrieve information of a mobile device, we normally perform an IMEI lookup rather than an IMEISV lookup. To retrieve the IMEI from the IMEISV , we need to perform the following steps: Luhn Algorithm Check Digit Computation. Starting from the right, double every other digit (e.g., 8 → 16). Sum the digits (e.g., 16 → 1 + 6).
The IMEI number is also written on the SIM card tray on a few phones. Whichever method you use, make sure to write down the IMEI number and keep it safe. That way, you’ll be able to give it to your carrier in case your phone gets lost or stolen. Also, make sure you don’t share the IMEI number with other people.
