eso sharing quests?

A party member might not be eligible if they have already completed the quest or it is part of a main or faction quest line. To share a quest, highlight the specific quest in the Journal and select “Share.” If the party member is eligible, they will receive a prompt to accept the quest.

This can happen for several reasons:

  • They already have the quest
  • They already did the quest
  • It is a quest line and they havent advanced far enough yet
  • It is a guild quest or a main quest
  • I have found (experience and logic) that these cause quests to not be shareable. The share button will still be enabled but no notification of any kind is sent to the group or yourself. I have no reference for this however.

Why is there a lack of quest sharing in New World?

New World is a game with community at its heart — both by virtue of it being an MMO and also by design. The way the game uses Factions, and Companies within those Factions to serve its Territory control aspect, encourages players to group up in service of the greater good of Aeternum.

If New World was intended to be played mostly solo, then this wouldnt be too much of an issue, but its clearly a game that Amazon wants people to team up for as much as possible. As such, the lack of quest sharing is a glaring oversight, one we hope the developers address sooner rather than later.
